The
above picture is a wood-fired boiler. It makes steam for use
in the manufacturing
process. The thermogram shows where the refractory (inside boiler
lining) is missing or not stopping the heat from burning through the side of the boiler. If this boiler goes
down, the plant will go down. This image can be used to schedule a planned outage of boiler for
repairs.
