The following thermograms indicate how an infrared camera can be used to capture the thermal images of electrical, mechanical, and structural components; whereas the heat (or the loss of heat) indicates malfunctions that can be identified and fixed in order to avoid costly failures.

Infrared Imaging of a residence that just had replacement windows installed.  The image shows that the windows were letting cold air inside the home.  The inside air temperature was 73 degrees.
